Tourists to Malaysia need to submit digital arrival card
Starting from 1st January 2024, all international travellers entering Malaysia will be required to fill out the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC).
The Immigration Department of Malaysia announced that completing the online form is mandatory before arrival. Exceptions to this requirement are granted to:
- All Singapore citizens
- Diplomatic passport holders
- Malaysian permanent residents & long-term pass holders
- Brunei General Certificate of Identity holders
- Brunei Malaysia Frequent Traveller Programme participants
- Thailand Border Pass holders
- Indonesian Cross-Border Pass holders
As outlined on the Immigration Department's MDAC website, the digital card must be filled out within three days before the planned arrival in Malaysia. Travellers must provide their personal details, including name, nationality, passport information, arrival and departure dates, mode of transportation (air, land, or sea), and the last port of embarkation through the designated website.
Upon arrival, visitors must present their passports and the completed MDAC to the on-duty Immigration officer, following entry requirements.
You can register and submit the MDAC at the Immigration Department's website here:
